George Lawson

Chairman of the Board

In addition to his experience in operating several startup and early-stage companies in a wide range of businesses, Mr. Lawson has extensive experience in senior management of large public U.S. companies.  He was most recently President and CEO of Powerit Solutions, a firm specializing in the production and distribution of energy controllers for industrial applications. 

Prior to Powerit Solutions he spent five years as Vice President of Corporate Development for Dayton Hudson Corporation, the world’s fourth largest retailer at the time.  There he was responsible for the startup of three new chains of stores and the acquisition of 3 million sq. ft. of operating retail stores for its Target division. 

Prior experience includes senior operating and corporate positions with Levi Strauss & Co. and General Mills, Inc., where his responsibilities included general management and corporate finance activities. 

He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Stanford University with an emphasis on finance, computer science and management information systems.  He has served on several boards of directors, including WG Clark, a large Seattle-based construction company, ByggVesta AB, a Swedish real estate holding company.
